This course progresses in stages with each session covering different areas. The topics this session are Outdoor Cooking and Gardening.
Urban homesteading is a sustainable living technique where you try to live in an eco-conscious manner. It includes growing and preserving your own food, raising animals, and practicing a more self-sufficient life.
Outdoor cooking takes many forms; from basic cooking over a simple camp-fire to gourmet meals prepared on equipment that rivals that found in modern kitchens. Wood, charcoal, propane gas or piped in natural gas may fuel the cooking devices. This is clearly a type of cooking with many variations.
Gardening will be focused spring fruits, vegetables, and composting
Community Service Learning is an educational tactic that teaches students about theories and activities by actually performing them in the real world. This course is going to teach the kids about community development and the impact of working in the community by having the kids do real volunteer work in the community. The project will be determined by the kids and they will be guided through the process while also being instructed on several topics vital to improving the conditions of a community.
Bernadette's House in partnership with Homeschooling Footprints is offering broadcasting. Students will have assignments to learn terminology and create a weekly show. Each week will focus on an element from production, presentation, and programming which leads up to the final product.

Information is everywhere and becoming more abundant with each passing day. Being able to sift through the growing ocean of information, analyze it, make a decision, and communicate that decision is more necessary now than ever before. This class is designed to give students a boost in their critical thinking, reasoning, and communication skills. We will be analyzing information and formulating theories and arguments that will be pitted against each other in debate format.
